So who are Base2?

Our Story

Base2 Training provides learning solutions for business.

Based at our head office on South Tyneside in the North East of England, our team of highly experienced trainers have one primary goal. To help you maximise your investment in personal and team development.

Training is delivered from a state of the art learning centre or at client site, whichever is most appropriate for you.

Our learning solutions have been delivered to a wide audience for almost 30 years. Small and medium businesses, large national and international corporations, private sector and public sector. Our experience in such a diverse range of sectors helps us to properly identify your needs and ensure our learning solutions address your precise requirements.

As the company name, Base2, implies, our roots are in ICT and Technology. However the range of learning programs we now offer goes well beyond ICT and builds on our team’s strengths gained in team development, business management, communication skills, sales and customer care.

Our relationship and associations with other quality local training providers breaks even more barriers and widens our range of courses still further.

Frequently Asked Questions.

Can you deliver training at my location?

Absolutely!

We regularly deliver training at our client’s site. You choose which is best for your needs, our training centre or your site.

Are you able to deliver bespoke learning?

Certainly (and we regularly do).

Whilst we have a wide range of scheduled (open) courses which run on a regular basis, we also deliver bespoke (dedicated) programs tailored to fit your exact requirements.

Can I ask questions outside of the 'standard' syllabus?

Absolutely and we would encourage you to do so.

To get the very best from our training courses, you need to be able to relate the learning to your every-day working life. If you bring along real life examples of the challenges you face at work, we’ll spend some time providing you with a toolkit to address those specific challenges.

Can I contact you after the course?

Yes you can and we would encourage you to do so.

Our courses come with Training PLUS which gives you access to our course tutors after the course has been completed.

If you have any challenges applying what you have learnt, or if you just can’t remember how to do something please call us or send us an email and we’d be happy to help.

Training PLUS is a free support service, so please feel free to use it.

What's the maximum group size?

Srictly speaking, there is no maximum. It does however depend on what you want to get out of the course.

Our courses are deigned to be highly interactive and your tutor is constantly looking for feedback on how effective the learning is. To cover this amount of interaction, experience has shown that one tutor should have a group of ideally eight maximum, but certainly no more than twelve.

We also pride ourselves on addressing specific questions based around your normal work environment. The same ideal group size allows us to provide a high level of one to one attention to everyone in the group.

What time do your courses start & finish?

Normally our open(scheduled) courses start at 09:15 for 09:30 and finish between 16:30 and 17:00.

If you are looking at a dedicated (bespoke) course, you can choose the start and finish times. And yes, we do deliver night-shift training for some clients!

Can your tutors handle a range of queries and questions?

We take great pride in the fact that our tutors are highly experienced and know considerably more than the topics they are delivering during training.

Flexibility is our middle name, so if you need to ask anything which is ‘off syllabus’, time permitting, we’ll make sure you get a thorough answer. And if we don’t have time on the course, we’ll get back to you with an answer after the course has been completed.

Will I get fed?

Yes, for full day courses hosted at our Quadrus training centre, refreshments throughout the day and lunch are provided with the course.

If you have any special dietary requirements, please let us know in advance and our catering team will be happy to meet your needs.

Is your training free?

Sorry, our training courses are not free.

We can often offer access to funding to support your learning program, but our courses are not fully funded.

We believe our courses are great value, but they’re not free.

Are you able to train me using my version of software?

Currently we are using versions of Microsoft Office ranging from 2003 right through to 2016. We ask in advance which version you are using so that we can deliver training in the correct version.

Please ask us about specific versions of Adobe Creative Suite and Crystal Reports and we will be happy to meet your needs.

Will I get joining instructions?

Unless we’ve been specifically told by your learning and development team not to provide them (normally if they do that for you), yes, your joining instructions will be sent to you at least one week in advance of your course.

Joining instructions will confirm the date and start time of your course along with our location details. We’ll also ask you about any dietary requirements you may have to ensure our catering is right for you.

What do I need to bring with me?

For the majority of our courses, YOU is the only thing you need to bring.

If you can bring any specific examples of the challenges you need your training to address, that’s a great help to your tutor.

There is no need for you to bring any equipment (laptop, PC, etc) as that’s all provided for you.

What happens if I'm ill on the day?

First of all, don’t worry. Your health is the most important thing.

If you (or a friend or colleague) can let us know asap, that would be great. We’ll worry about you otherwise!

Once you have recovered, we can sort out a new course date for you.
